BTW, if you (or anyone else) wants to use CppUnit as a testing framework, you
can copy quite a bit from the HEAD version of COAL (forge/libs/coal/tests).
It's integrated with automake/autoconf, and all that fruity goodness.  "make
check" triggers the build and execution of the test suite, and will error out
if the test fails (which you want if you're cutting releases with "make
distcheck").

I s'pose since you're inside of STAGE, you'll probably end up using the
Official STAGE Test System.  However, CppUnit is easy to use and a piece of
cake to set up, and is based on very solid engineering principles, and has
already been ported to many languages, e.g, Java, Python.
